Method In Madness
Why do we feel at most ourselves while listening to sad, melancholic music? Why does the human mind feel at ease when playing such melancholy tunes? There is no pretence in deep introspection, only brutal honesty. You would think when someone is hurting they would play upbeat music however, that is not the case. We play sad music to feel better. In a strange yet hallowed way, the clarity that comes from this pained interlude comforts us and clears our minds. Life is made of the things we've picked up along the way. Some belong and some don't, and when a sentiment crosses our path (as these melodies endlessly invoke), we immediately know which is which. The contrast reveals our true selves as we reach into the darkness and try to draw out the light. Allowing a person to relate to what they are listening to, they can even interpret the sound based on what they are feeling. In some cases, people also might feel that the music is them or that they are the music that is being played. The sad, melancholy music, with no joviality, only sadness and aloneness. Though it might be sad, it can make a person feel happy subconsciously. This type of music makes a person feel free from the world, think of it as an escape from all the wrongdoings and mistakes that the world has created. I think that it's an odd path to peace but one that is as old and sure as time itself.
Bro that's why I started playing Dubstep to lift me up whenever I get sad. Never been sad in years now
